Incident Brief: Anthony Joshua’s Recovery Following a Multi-Fatality Road Traffic Accident in Ogun State

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua was hospitalized Monday following a fatal car accident in Nigeria.

The Nigerian-British boxer was traveling in a Lexus SUV on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near his ancestral home of Sagamu when the vehicle collided with a stationary truck at approximately 11 a.m. local time.

While Joshua sustained only minor injuries and is currently receiving medical attention, Ogun State Police tragically confirmed that two other passengers in the vehicle were killed at the scene.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash, which occurred just nine days after Joshua’s knockout victory over Jake Paul.
